A message from the research team at Autism Spectrum Australia (ASPECT)
ASPECT is conducting a research project about the experiences, aspirations and support needs of adolescents with Asperger’s Disorder or high functioning autism. They are looking for participants to complete either of two questionnaires, which should take approximately 15 minutes each. The first questionnaire is for adolescents aged between 12 and 17 years old. The second questionnaire is for the parents of these adolescents. Participation is voluntary and confidential and will help provide Aspect with an insight into the lives of adolescents with high functioning autism or Asperger’s. If you or someone you know is interested in participating in this research you can find the questionnaires on the ASPECT website.
Later in the year ASPECT are also looking at conducting focus groups, which will include a range of professionals and service providers within Australia who work in some capacity with adolescents with Asperger’s Disorder or high functioning autism. Our aim is to gather some information about the services available for this group of adolescents. They are interested in finding out what works well, and identify gaps that may exist in services, policies, training, funding, data, knowledge and expertise.
If you would like more information about the research project or if you are interested in participating in focus groups, please contact Kerry Ritzrow at firstname.lastname@example.org
