Getting to the Autism Research Focus Afternoon on 9th September 2016
There are various ways to get to the Autism Research Focus Afternoon at La Trobe University.
The 86 tram from the city stops at the Plenty Road entrance to the Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus. The tram stop is only a few minutes walk from the centre of the University. Although it is a bit slower than other services from the city.
The 86 tram starts from Docklands and comes through the city along Bourke Street.
Alight from the tram at the corner of Plenty Road and Kingsbury Drive. (This is just past the Preston cemetery on your right.)
Buses routes 246, 250, 350 548, 550, 551, 561, and 566 travel to La Trobe University
Train and bus
Take the South Morang or Epping line train form the city to Reservoir and change to the 301 Express Bus from there direct to La Trobe.
There is no direct train route to the campus. You will need to connect with one of the following bus/tram routes at the relevant train station:
- Clifton Hill Station (Hurstbridge/Epping Line) – Bus 246
- Heidelberg Station (Hurstbridge Line) – Bus 550
- Ivanhoe Station (Hurstbridge Line) – Bus 547/548
- Macleod Station (Hurstbridge Line) – Bus 561
- Reservoir Station (Epping Line) – Bus 561
- Thornbury Station (Epping Line) – Tram 86 on High St

When travelling by car, come to the Northern Entry of La Trobe University (off Kingsbury Drive). Turn into the Campus Ring Road, then immediately turn right into the entry to Car Parks 1 & 2. Park your car in a white parking bay. There will be a parking ticket machine. The charge is $3 per hour, to a maximum of $5.50 per day. You can pay with coins or your credit card. The same payment arrangements apply in other car parks, if an overflow of parking is required.
It is a short walk from Car Park 1 or 2 (map reference D 5-9) to the Western Lecture Theatre (map reference D 6).
