Text

There are now many different techniques for measuring intervention effects using N1 designs, including:

  • Visual analysis
  • Mean difference across the phases
  • Percentage of non-overlapping data (PND)
  • Tau-U
  • In selecting a technique, we need to understand and carefully consider the pros and cons of each.

Activity

Analyse your data using each of the following techniques. Compare the different results, and in doing so, consider the strengths and limitations of each technique, and how you would explain the results to a client, caregiver, and/or colleague.

  • Visual analysis
  • Percentage of non-overlapping data (PND)
  • Tau-U
